🎬🌊 TIFFOIM 2026 in Mangily – An Exceptional Evening of Science, Culture and Mental Health
As part of the TIFFOIM – Indian Ocean Film and Music Festival, Patapata Live, Hotel Princesse du Lagon, and HUMANZAZA NGO are delighted to invite you to a unique public event on the beach in Mangily.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Hervet Randriamady, a Research Fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he earned his PhD in Population Health Sciences. Originally from Madagascar, his research focuses on mental health, food insecurity, and the impacts of climate change in the country's southwest. Since 2022, he has also collaborated with the Institut Halieutique et des Sciences Marines (IHSM).

Having recently defended his doctoral dissertation at Harvard University, Dr. Randriamady is returning to share his work where it matters most: with the people of the Bay of Ranobe.
Through documentary screenings and an open discussion, he will present his research:

"Culture and Mental Health in the Bay of Ranobe."
His work explores how local culture, traditional music, and Vezo and Masikoro concepts such as Jagombo lava, Fiasan-doha, and Alahelo lava help us better understand mental health through the lens of local knowledge while building bridges with modern scientific research.

This event also marks the beginning of a new area of commitment for HUMANZAZA NGO. While our organization is already active in education, school nutrition, and women's economic empowerment, we believe that mental health must become an essential pillar of sustainable community development. Through future awareness campaigns, community discussions, and prevention initiatives, HUMANZAZA aims to help break the stigma surrounding mental health and promote psychological well-being, starting in Mangily and eventually expanding throughout the Atsimo Andrefana Region.
📍 Princesse du Lagon Beach – Mangily, Madagascar
🕕 Today at 6:00 PM
🎟️ Free admission – Everyone is welcome

We warmly invite the people of Mangily, neighboring villages, visitors, researchers, educators, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested in culture, science, and community development to join us for this special evening.
Because research reaches its highest purpose when it returns to the communities that inspired it.
We look forward to welcoming you this evening.
