Chicken Tandoori Recipe | Restaurant-Style Tandoori Chicken
Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
500g chicken (leg & thigh pieces)
½ cup thick yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chili powder (for color)
½ teaspoon chaat masala
1 tablespoon mustard oil (or any oil)
Salt to taste
A pinch of red food color (optional)
Method:
1. Prepare the Chicken:
Make deep cuts on the chicken pieces to help the marinade pe*****te.
2. Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients. Coat the chicken well and let it marinate for at least 4-6 hours (preferably overnight for best results).
3. Cooking Methods:
Oven: Preheat to 200°C (390°F) and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway. Broil for 5 minutes for a charred effect.
Stovetop: Heat a grill pan, brush with oil, and cook the chicken on medium flame until charred and fully cooked.
Tandoor/BBQ: Cook on an open flame or charcoal grill for authentic smoky flavor.
4. Final Touch:
Brush with butter and sprinkle chaat masala for extra flavor.
5. Serve Hot:
Garnish with lemon wedges, onion rings, and mint chutney.
