تمّ هدم نادي الشراع اللبناني بناءً على طلب مالكي العقار نديم سليم الزير وطارق سليم الزير، المعروفين في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ونوجّه من هنا نداءً إلى دولة الإمارات لممارسة الضغط على المعنيين من أجل مساعدة النادي في محنته الحالية.

في تصرّف عدائي غير مسبوق، اقتحمت القوى الأمنية نادي الشراع، وقامت بتدمير جميع منشآته وتبعثرت ممتلكاته. لم يكن هذا مجرد نادٍ عادي، بل مؤسسة بحرية تاريخية علّمت أجيالًا من الأطفال فنّ الإبحار، ونظّمت بطولات محلية وإقليمية، وأسّست لإرث مشرّف أضاف فخرًا لهذا الوطن. وقد حاز النادي على تغطية إعلامية دولية مرارًا بفضل إنجازاته ومساهماته في مجال التعليم البحري.

ومن بين الشخصيات المتورطة في هذا التدمير: فرانسوا بركات، ونديم الزير، وطارق الزير، أبناء سليم الزير، وقد تم ذلك بدعم وتواطؤ واضح من بعض المسؤولين النافذين، مما أدى إلى تدمير كامل لأسطول النادي. لقد تم تدمير جميع القوارب، ما أضاع سنوات من التفاني، وبناء المجتمع، والفخر الوطني.

ما جرى لم يكن اعتداءً على ممتلكات فحسب، بل كان اعتداءً على القيم، والتعليم، وروح البحر التي صنعت هوية أجيال من البحّارة الصغار.
