Meanwhile, in Italy… 🇮🇹🌿

While Orchid Bay has been enjoying a refresh here in St. Kitts, our owner David, Chef Brendan, and IT Director, Joe, spent part of the September break in Montorio nei Frentani, Molise - home to David’s family olive orchards and the roots of our Montorio Olive Oil.

First up: table olives.🫒

Picked from the trees and prepared in Italy, these little green beauties will eventually make the journey across the Atlantic and find their way onto our tables at Orchid Bay.

The olive harvest for this year’s Montorio Olive Oil comes next - another tradition connecting the Italian countryside to our little corner of the Caribbean.

From Montorio, to St. Kitts, to your table. 🇮🇹 → 🇰🇳

And speaking of our tables… we reopen tomorrow, Thursday, October 1st. 🥂

Two years running.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Orchid Bay Beach House has once again been recognized with a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for 2026, placing us among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide. 🌎

Receiving this recognition last year was pretty special. Receiving it again this year feels even more meaningful.

Because for us, it’s about consistency - creating the kind of evening you remember long after the last plate has been cleared.

The drive out to the Southeast Peninsula.
That first glimpse of the Caribbean as you come down the hill.
A mojito as the sun goes down.
Plates and platters of handmade food arriving at the table, family-style.
One more glass of w**e because nobody is quite ready to leave yet.

Those are the evenings we set out to create at Orchid Bay, and knowing our guests continue to share and recommend their experiences means the world to our entire team.

The timing feels rather fitting, too. While our doors are closed for our September break, there’s plenty happening behind them as we renovate, refresh and prepare to welcome you back.

Two years running… and plenty more evenings around the table still to come.

A little pause before the next chapter. 🌿🇮🇹

What a start to 2026 it has been.

Our tables have been filled with familiar faces and new friends, countless plates have been passed around, mojitos have been enjoyed as the sun disappeared over the Caribbean, and we’ve had so many wonderful reasons to celebrate together.

Now, we’re taking a little time to rest, refresh and get ready for what comes next.

Orchid Bay Beach House will be closed for the remainder of September while our kitchen gets a little love of its own. And while the work continues behind the scenes, our team is getting a well-earned opportunity for some rest, relaxation and a few adventures of their own.

And, of course, no Orchid Bay break would be complete without a little time in Italy. 🇮🇹

Back in Montorio nei Frentani, it’s time for the olive harvest - returning to the traditions, people and place behind the authentic Italian olive oil that makes its way from Molise all the way to our tables here in St. Kitts.

A chance to harvest, recharge, renovate and return inspired.

Thank you to everyone who has shared a table with us so far this year. We’ll be back, rested and ready to welcome you again on Thursday, October 1st.

Happy Thursday 🌺

In Italy, la mamma is at the heart of everything - the keeper of traditions, the one who gathers family around the table, and the quiet force behind so many of life’s most meaningful moments.

While Mother’s Day only became an official celebration in Italy in 1957, the love and admiration Italians have for their mothers has always run deep. Just like here in St. Kitts, every second Sunday in May, families across Italy come together for La Festa della Mamma with flowers, long meals, shared w**e, and time spent together.

At Orchid Bay Beach House, that spirit feels especially close to home this weekend as we celebrate not only all of the incredible mothers joining us, but also our own mamma and owner, Jennifer, whose warmth, hospitality, and love of bringing people together helped shape Orchid Bay into the special place it is today.

As we close out the year, we’re reflecting on everything that made it so special: unforgettable nights, sell-out dinners, milestone celebrations, incredible events and collaborations, and a season full of energy and joy.
