Angkor Cooking Class Welcome to Tuol Serey Homestay & Restaurant! My name is Mai. For me, food is something you share with your family.

If you want to enjoy a unique and authentic experience of Cambodian people life, please come at my place and share a night or a meal with my family!. I'm a cooking trainer at Sala Baï School, a school in hospitality that trains free of charge more than 100 young disadvantaged Cambodians per year to career in hospitality (Restaurant, Cooking, Front Office, Housekeeping and Beauty Therapy). I felt i

n love with cooking when I was young that's why I did my best to join Sala Baï School and to learn how to cook. After few years working in very famous restaurants in town, I would like to share this passion with the others and to transmit it. This is why I decided to come back to Sala Baï as a cooking trainer, I wanted to give back what I received and to help these young students to have some skills and get a job. Last year, I decided to go further and to transmit and share this passion for food with the tourists, so I created this homestay. In Cambodia, we called it “Khmer Family style”, it means you put all the dishes on the middle of the table and you share it with your loved ones. I wanted the foreigners to have a unique and authentic experience of the Cambodians life so after the cooking class; I invite them to share the lunch with all my family! We offer different kind of activities:
- Oxen chart ride on the countryside (5 USD)
- Lotus farm visit
- Cooking class (15 USD)
- Home stay (5 USD)
- Meals shared with my family:
Breakfast (3 USD)
Lunch or dinner (5 USD)

If you want to experience a full experience you can combine the Oxen chart ride, lotus farm visit, cooking class + lunch for 20 USD per person! We are looking forward to meeting you!

Introduction
Each country has its own unique traditional dish to serve to the guest, either at a specific meal time or for a specific event.
Because each country attracts tourists from all over the world, it is not only important to show local cuisine, but also to provide their favorite dishes.
Therefore, it is important that chefs understand special dishes and cuisines from different countries in the world.
While having an understanding of all cuisines is not possible of practical, normally an understanding of cuisines of countries that most of their customers come from is advantageous.
This manual will explore the different types of cuisines that we should provide to international customers and considerations when preparing, cooking, serving and storing ingredients and meals themselves.
