Open Appeal to the Governments of the United States, Sweden, and South Korea

We urge the governments of the United States, Sweden, and the Republic of Korea—manufacturers of the F-16, Gripen, and T-50/T-50TH aircraft used by Thailand—to take responsibility and act.

These aircraft are being used in operations that violate Cambodia’s sovereignty and endanger civilians, while threatening or destroying temples, Hindu statues, Buddhist pagodas, villages, schools, civilian bridges, and ancient bridges—all of which are protected under international law.

These are not military targets. They are places of worship, education, daily life, and priceless cultural heritage.

We call on your governments to pressure Thailand to immediately stop all air attacks, uphold ethical arms-export responsibilities, and support peaceful dialogue instead of violence.

Silence enables destruction. Responsibility demands action.

Yesterday, one Cambodian civilian was shot and killed, and several others were wounded by the Thai military in their own village. Despite this tragic act of aggression, the peace agreement initiated under U.S. President Donald J. Trump remains intact. Cambodia continues to uphold its obligations under the accord, with Malaysia constructively mediating differences between the parties. However, Thailand’s escalating hostility and disregard for civilian lives have seriously undermined regional peace efforts. We therefore call upon President Donald J. Trump and the United States to take immediate action to hold the Thai military and government accountable for these violations and to ensure that the commitments under the peace framework are fully respected.
