Yesterday, we attended the International Day of Women in Industry – Kenya Edition, hosted by UNIDO in partnership with TradeMark Africa under the theme “Co-creating Solutions Together.”

The event focused on shifting from awareness to action by identifying key challenges facing women in industry and mapping out practical, collaborative solutions.

Using the coffee value chain as a case study, discussions highlighted critical barriers such as:

1. Limited land ownership, affecting access to finance
2. Limited voice in leadership and decision-making

Encouragingly, the dialogue emphasized partnerships and actionable solutions to advance women’s leadership in industry — benefiting not just women, but the entire ecosystem.
