Big news from Amboseli National Park, Kenya: they had a record baby elephant boom back in 2020, with about 140+ calves born - one of the biggest years on record. But just to clear things up: that number isn’t for this year - the latest 2024 report from the Amboseli Trust for Elephants says there were 32 new calves. Still amazing, but quite a bit lower than the headlines you might be seeing.
