They say life isn't a bed of roses. True. There are plenty of guns sitting among the roses. The problem when you are faced with the cancer gun in Kenya is that you have another worrying bullet staring at you apart from the disease. The long queue of patients at KNH, 1800 patients who like you are waiting more than a year to get radiotherapy because there is only one machine at KNH. already stretched beyond its capacity. That is despite the fact that, in a much shorter time, the first bullet, cancer could either kill you or make sure nothing can be done about it anyway. Pretty scary place to be....
This world cancer day, life 2 life asks all Kenyans to stand in the gap for these 1800 cancer soldiers so that through a joint initiative these brave cancer patients can access care in the underutilized private cancer centres.
If 1 million Kenyans gave Kshs. 200 each, our 1800 cancer soldiers would get treatment in a reasonable time.
