Our Principal, Dorothy Khamisi, and Placement Officer, Caroline Kitumbui, visited Leopard Beach Resort & Spa in Diani to explore attachment and dual training opportunities for Tewa students.

Thank you to Madam Aisha, HR Manager, for a warm welcome and a powerful reminder: the earlier young women experience the industry, the bigger they dream.

Here’s to building more pathways from the classroom to the coast’s best hotels.

"I had no hopes of joining college."

Those are Sophie's words; describing where she was after high school, when her father couldn't afford to send her to college and she was at home, waiting, with nowhere to go.

Then she heard about Tewa. A scholarship brought her here.

She trained in housekeeping. Completed module one. Worked in the industry for a year. Came back to do module two.

Today she is Tewa's Housekeeping Supervisor.

We asked her what Tewa has given her.

"I'm a better person. I'm a responsible person. I'm working well."

She didn't grow up with a computer at home.
Today, she's building a digital career, right here in Kilifi.

Meet 33 of the 66 women in Tewa's May 2026 cohort, currently taking part in the Ajira Digital Training Program at the Ajira Digital offices in Kilifi town. Over two days, all 66 students complete skills training that opens doors to freelancing, online work, and Kenya's growing digital economy.

Hospitality. Digital skills. Community. That is what Tewa is about.
Today we capture the second group: watch this space. 👀

Madaraka is more than a celebration of a nation's freedom. It is a reminder of the possibilities that emerge when people are given the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.

At Tewa Training Centre, we witness these possibilities every day as young women discover their talents, build their confidence, and prepare to make their mark on the world.

As we celebrate Kenya's journey, we also celebrate the resilience, determination, and ambition of every woman striving to create a better future for herself, her family, and her community.

Happy Madaraka Day from all of us at Tewa Training Centre. 🇰🇪

This Women’s Month, we celebrate the women who dare to dream, learn, and rise.

At Tewa Training Centre, every skill taught, every lesson shared, is a gift that empowers. When a woman is given opportunity, she gains confidence, independence, and a future filled with promise.

Give to Gain is more than a theme, it’s the ripple effect of hope, strength, and transformation. When she gains, her family and community gain too.

Let’s honour women who invest in themselves and in the world around them.
