🗾 A Journey into Japanese Traditional Crafts
日本伝統工芸の世界をひもとく
Join us for the second edition of Kyoto Dialogues, an evening exploring the beauty, creativity and craftsmanship behind Japan’s traditional arts.
On Thursday, October 8, Steve Beimel, Founder of JapanCraft21, will introduce the annual Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, which brings together exceptional contemporary works across ceramics, textiles, lacquer, metal, wood and bamboo, and figurative art.
Through a richly illustrated presentation, Steve will share insights into the works featured in the exhibition, offering a closer look at the techniques, creativity and stories behind Japan’s traditional crafts, and the people who continue to carry these traditions forward.
Whether you have a long-standing interest in Japanese craftsmanship or are simply curious to discover more, this is an opportunity to see Japan’s traditional arts from a new perspective.
