Five years ago today, when we officially went live online and began this journey together, we did not fully know what we were getting ourselves into. We simply had faith, a lofty dream, and the determination to make something meaningful from what we had. Inspired by our family’s farming roots across West Africa and Alabama, we created Oye Coffee as two Nigerian-American brothers from Nashville with a shared love for coffee, culture, and community. There have been plenty of lessons, unexpected turns, long days, and the occasional brotherly fuss, but through every challenge, we have continued to love one another, work as a team, and keep pushing the boundaries forward.
To every customer who has supported us, shared a cup, told a friend, attended an event, or simply encouraged us along the way, we thank you and continue to be overflowth with gratitude and appreciation. Your belief in what we aspire to create has helped us grow, strengthen relationships with farmers, and invest more deeply in the communities connected to our journey. Coffee was only the beginning, and we are also working on a few special projects that will bring the Oye experience to another level! We may not have started with much, but together, every bit means so much. Five years later, we still believe together anything is possible... and, as always, the secret ingredient is love.
