PINK OCTOBER STARTS HERE. JERSEY, LET’S GET CHECKING!
Today, we’re incredibly proud to announce a new Channel Islands partnership between ABC Jersey, Pink Ladies Guernsey and My Breast Friend App - with one big ambition: **To get more of Jersey checking.**
At the heart of our Pink October campaign is My Breast Friend - the FREE, not-for-profit app created by Guernsey breast cancer survivor Gemma Ainger following her own diagnosis at just 42. ABC Jersey is delighted to become the app’s official Jersey charity partner, working alongside Pink Ladies Guernsey to help make checking a normal part of everyday self-care.
Because knowing we *should* check isn’t always the problem. Remembering to do it is.
💗 69% of surveyed My Breast Friend users knew they should check monthly - but only 19% were actually doing it.
💗 52% said the main reason they weren’t checking regularly was simply forgetting.
That’s where My Breast Friend comes in.

At the time we started developing this partnership, around 11% of My Breast Friend users were in Guernsey - compared with just 1% in Jersey. We want to change that. So this morning, we’re asking you to do something really simple:
