📓 Do you know that when “you’re a third wheel” (=“holding the light” for someone else, in Italian) however out of place or cumbersome you may feel, you are repeating a gesture that has a very illustrious, as well as very useful variant, even crystallized in a dining room service object? It’s the gueridon!
[Let’s find it out on 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒙 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒆!👇🏼]

The gueridon is an auxiliary small table, to be placed next to the guests main one during the dining room service. Its use can vary from a simple support (e.g. for a glacette), to the more scenic complement to the presentation of the dishes, sometimes prepared or finished directly on sight in front of the customers. Its origin derives from the same name character in 17th-century dance and theatre performances, who held a candle during stage actions.
