बाटी चोखा रेस्टोरेंट डाफी (वाराणसी) में कजरी गीत के साथ रतजग्गा ख़ूब धूमधाम के साथ मनाया गया, इस दौरान लोगों का स्वागत जरई के साथ किया गया.
जरई जौ के बीच से तैयार हुए पौधे को कहा जाता है. सावन महीने में नाग पंचमी के दिन किसी मिट्टी के बर्तन मे जौ बोया जाता है और इसी दिन से बनारस घराने से अब प्रभावित अर्ध शास्त्रीय कजरी गीत शुरू होती है. जौ के किनारे-किनारे महिलाएँ और लड़कियाँ घूम- घूमकर गाती है. और कुछ दिनों में जौ पौधे का रूप ले लेता है, जिसे जरई कहते है. रक्षाबंधन के तीन दिन बाद कजरी का त्योहार मनाया जाता है. इससे एक दिन पहले देर रात तक कजरी गीत गाँवों में गूंजती है और जलेबा बाँटा जाता है.इसीलिए इसे रतजग्गा भी बोलते हैं . कजरी के दिन लड़कियाँ और महिलाएँ दोस्तों-रिश्तेदारों के कान के पास जरई लगाकर स्वागत करती है. पूर्वांचल में यह परंपरा बहुत पुरानी है. कजरी का यह पर्व भगवान शिव और पार्वती की आराधना के लिए की जाती है.
