Dear all,
It is unacceptable that we continue to be the target of false accusations and malicious comments. Our business, SIJIS PIZZA STREET, has been operating for 5 years now, and we have always maintained a good reputation in the community. However, a smear campaign has been launched against us, making baseless allegations against my son, Dr. Sajjad Rahman Saleem, and our business.
We want to clarify that we have never been involved in any illegal activities, and our cooperation with the authorities has been exemplary. Also allegations like the money earned through illegal activity is invested in Sijis Pizza Street is laughable. I have been an NRI for last 35 years and the money invested in the pizzeria is a earning from my NRI Days. Also we do not just have this pizzeria business, but many other business in different sector . So petty claims like terror money was used for funding this pizzeria is a deplorable claim!
My son's acquintance with Nimisha Anilkumar ended in 2014 on mutual terms. Later we learned from media that in 2016 she fell in love with a person (Christian convert Muslim), converted to Islam and married him. They after marriage were accepted and blessed by both side families. But later allegedly fleed from India to join ISIS. My son has no knowledge of her husband or how she converted to Islam or how she fleed the country. Nimisha Anilkumar being an adult (and much older than my son) might probably have taken all such decisions autonomously as per her own wish.
Due to my son's acquintance with Nimisha Anil Kumar through their coaching institution days in the past, he like many other who knew her and dealt with her were subjected to enquiries by investigating authorities including NIA to find the real truth behind her missing.
Not only no evidence of wrongdoing has been found on our side, all allegations made against us were found to be purely baseless. It is time for those responsible for these false accusations to stop immediately.
We have sent defamation notices in the past (in 2021) to those indulging in falsely alleging us, including the mother of Nimisha Anilkumar , and we will not hesitate to take further legal action to protect our reputation and our business from baseless and harmful allegations. We are not going to allow anyone to tarnish our reputation or jeopardize our business, and we will take all necessary steps to protect ourselves.Sijis Pizza Street values humans irrespective of their region, religion or caste and our staff consists of those from all various religions and regions of India. So we hope as proud Indians you shall refrain from cowardly smear campaigns and instead put your trust in the law and order authorities of this wonderful nation . Meanwhile, We request all our beloved customers who know us and our credentials for last 5 years to kindly ignore this cyber attack against us. Our aim will always be to serve Kerala the best pizzas that you guys have always loved .
We understand that the recent series of cyber attacks is associated with the release of a movie named "KERALA STORY" which claims to be "based" on real incidents. We support the release of the movie and the "creative liberty" and the hardwork of it's makers. Even though the makers haven't claimed it is the real life story of Nimisha AnilKumar , speculations in Social media that it is made on her "true life" is probably what has sparked such hate comments in our page. We understand that crores of rupees are spend on making this movie and their commercial interest to make even more crores as profit would have prompted the "creation" of a story that will "entertain" the audience immensely and hence the script will require further dramatisation to achieve this. But at the same time we hope, this movie doesn't tarnish us, the beautiful state of Kerala or anyone innocent.
I would like to end this saying that in this transient lives of ours,we hope people shall spread peace and joy around rather than hate filled venom.
Jai Hind,
Syed Saleem
