It's not reel..its real story
When I was pursuing my graduation in Agriculture in 2003, I got a rare opportunity to meet two legends—Dr. Norman Borlaug and Dr. M. S. Swaminathan—at Mahyco Seed Company, during the inauguration of a biotechnology laboratory. I learned about the event through a local newspaper; despite having my mid-term examination on the same day, I chose to attend, knowing it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The program was meant only for invited guests and was graced by eminent dignitaries including the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Late Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh, Agriculture Minister Balasaheb Thorat, and several leaders from agricultural, social, and political fields, hosted by Shri Badrinarayan Barwale, Chairman of Mahyco. Inspired by a creative, cinema-style entry, I managed to enter the auditorium.
After the session, as the dignitaries moved towards the expo, I seized the moment to greet Dr. Borlaug and Dr. Swaminathan. Dr. Borlaug spoke to me personally, asking about my college and my interest in agriculture. When he learned that my agriculture college was just 7 km away, he immediately questioned why the students were not present. Fortunately, our Principal, Dr. H. N. Patil, was there.
Moved by his concern, Mahyco arranged buses to bring all the agriculture students. Soon, my colleagues arrived, and we all received a remarkable opportunity to interact with the legends, capture photographs, and explore a high-tech seed technology expo—followed by a memorable feast.
That moment became a turning point in my life. Inspired by these great visionaries, I committed myself to serving agriculture—the living heritage of mankind. After completing my post-graduation, I worked for five years in the farmers’ livelihood sector in Wardha.
In 2011, I founded Parashar Agri & Culture Tourism, where guests from more than 30 countries have experienced rural India. Our Bharat Immersion Program continues to carry forward this vision—connecting people to the roots of agriculture and life.
