After trying 10 variations - we decided on going with a single cultivar okumidori directly sourced from the lands of UJI fresh every month.

It’s milled to our specific size so it feels smooth and not grainy and it is the most premium yet purest form of matcha.

6 months at our new Pali Hill home. 🤍

And honestly, what a journey it’s been.

Thanks to Bappa and all of your love, we’ve made it this far - from not knowing the first thing about branding to building a space that spans thousands of square feet. Sometimes, it still feels surreal.

What makes it even more special is that you’ve all been a part of the journey.

From stress-eating to cooking with love.
From starting at ground zero to making matcha a trend.
From figuring it all out as we went to watching Mokai become a little world of its own.

It’s been chaotic, emotional, exhausting, exciting - and completely worth witnessing.

Thank you for showing up, growing with us, and making Mokai what it is today.

Here’s to many more chapters, many more memories, and a whole lot more matcha. 🤍
