Dear friends and patrons of Bombay Vintage,

When we took over the management of Bombay Vintage 2 years ago, our goal was to shine a spotlight on the diversity of local cuisines that exist in our city. Over the last couple of years, we've had the opportunity to collaborate and showcase food from the city's communities like Bohris, Parsis, Kolis etc.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the hard decision to end our management of Bombay Vintage Colaba.

As heart-breaking as it is for us and our team, we will immensely miss this space that we created with love, a space that captures the dynamic energy and nostalgia of Bombay.

In 1899, the Bombay Tramway Company applied to the municipality to operate electric trams. To ease rush-hour traffic, double-decker trams were introduced in September 1920. The trams met travellers' needs until the betterment of the city's train network, and the service closed on 31 March 1964.

The 250-year historic Minara Masjid and Mohammed Ali Road are usually the busiest in the country during the holy month where thousands converge to break their fast and enjoy a great deal of open-hearted camaraderie. The 24x7 Ramzan market started as tiny food stalls around this mosque and kept expanding over the centuries.

We're waiting for that Bun Maska Chai weather, oh and also that fresh apple pie, is catching our eye. What's your favourite Bombay bakery ?

from The Yazdani bakery is tucked into a by-lane in Fort and is quite easy to miss, given the unassuming exterior.

The name Yazdani originates from the town of Yazd, which is the capital of the Yazd Province in Iran, and a hub of Iranian culture.
Back in 1951, Meherwan Zend started the Yazdani Restaurant and Bakery in place of a Japanese bank that stood there through World War II.
