Kheer β¨
This is the easiest and simplest Kheer recipe ever; with only 3 main ingredients β₯οΈ The fourth and most important ingredient you need here is patience, because we all know that the key to a creamy Kheer is slow cooking. No wonder this dessert is a true labour of love β₯οΈ
Here is the recipe! Save it if you want to give it a try β₯οΈ
π 4 cups milk
π 1/4 cup rice (preferably short grained)
π 1/2 cup condensed milk
π 2 tbsp saffron steeped milk or 1/4 tsp cardamom powder (optional flavouring)
- Let the milk come to a boil.
- Add the washed and soaked (for atleast 30 mins) rice and let it simmer on low-medium flame until the rice is cooked (it takes me anywhere between 45mins to an hour).
- Add the flavouring (I used saffron) and the condensed milk and let it cook for another 10 mins.
- Remove from flame, cool, chill, top with nuts of choice and serve.
PS:
1. You can add nuts and dried fruits while cooking too, totally upto you, I love the crunch, so I add at the end.
2. Kheer tends to taste different according to the flavouring or nuts added. For instance Kheer with cardamom and raisins will taste completely different from the one with saffron and pistachios and so on - you get the drift. So you can actually include various toppings and recreate a whole new experience every time.
