WE ARE NO. 1. 💛

I have written and deleted this post several times, because somehow “We are No. 1” feels too small for what this moment means to us.

In 2024, Opportunity Café started with a simple belief:

Give them an opportunity.
Believe in them.
And then watch what they can do.

There was no guarantee that it would work.

There were difficult days. Financial struggles. Mistakes. Tears. Arguments. Days when the kitchen went wrong, days when service went wrong, and days when almost everything seemed to go wrong.

But something happened every single morning.

Our children came back.

They wore their yellow T-shirts.
They entered the kitchen.
They made the coffee.
They served the tables.
They smiled at customers.

And we started again.

Day after day.

Today, that little dream from 2024 has been placed No. 1 among Kolkata’s Best Cafés by PageNearby, based on its ranking methodology using Google ratings and review volume.

And our hearts are full. ❤️

Not because of the number.

But because of the people standing behind that number.

To every parent who trusted us with their child when Opportunity was still just an idea—this is your moment.

To every member of our team who taught, trained, corrected, protected, argued, encouraged and refused to give up—this is your moment.

And to our children—

Look at what you have done.

People once discussed what you couldn’t do.

Today, Kolkata is reviewing the work you actually do.

Thousands of customers have walked through your doors. You served them. You earned their appreciation.

Nobody gifted you this moment.

You worked for it.

So today, stand a little taller.

Because this is YOUR CAFÉ.
YOUR WORK.
YOUR ACHIEVEMENT.
YOUR MOMENT. 💛

And to Kolkata—you didn’t just visit our café. You gave our children something far more valuable:

You gave them a chance to prove themselves.

Thank you. ❤️

Tomorrow morning, though, the yellow T-shirts go back on.

Because reaching No. 1 is an achievement.

Staying No. 1 will be an entirely different ball game.

And if these children have taught us anything over the last two-and-a-half years, it is this:

Tough times come. Tough times go.
The ones who keep turning up are the ones who eventually win.

So, children…

Ready for tomorrow? 💛
