Here's why we switched our coffee beans a few weeks ago:

We always thought we were a donut shop, so why pay a premium for coffee when most of our sales are iced coffees with sweeteners in them anyway?

Then we learned what speciality coffee really is, and it changed our minds.

We're very particular about where our ingredients come from, so we don't know why we never held coffee to the same standard.

We got to see the whole roasting process right here in Kochi with Aadil from Capi, who now roasts our beans. We finally know where our coffee comes from and who's behind it.

So what is speciality coffee?
Coffee that scores 80+ out of 100 on the Specialty Coffee Association's grading scale. The beans are grown at good altitudes, picked ripe, processed carefully and roasted fresh in small batches. Farmers are paid fairly, and you can trace the coffee back to the farm it came from.

Why does it matter in an iced coffee?
Better beans taste smoother and less bitter, so you need less sugar to cover the taste. You're also supporting farmers and local roasters.

This week’s lesson: don’t buy anything just because it looks SO cute. 😭

I bought 200 of these takeaway holders, and their only real function is being cute. They’re absolutely useless for home deliveries but adorable to take away from the shop. 🥲

So please come use them for your cute little photos while I go buy new, functional holders. 💀🧡
