Why Herbal Dyed Organic Cotton?
1) No organic farmer has EVER committed su***de, whereas ALL farmer su***des are from among the non-organic cotton farmers.
2) Average work life of a person working in the conventional dyeing industry is 6-7 years, after which they are too unwell to continue. Therefore all western countries outsource their dyeing to places like India and Africa where cost of life is cheap.
3) Conventional Dyeing Industry requires approximately 25,000 Litres of DRINKING WATER per kg of Cloth, which amounts to about 2500 Litres per garment, only 0.1% of which can be recycled.
4) Conventional Dyeing accounts for 70% of land and water pollution and even if we stop immediately it will take hundreds of years to undo the damage. The only reason it’s going unnoticed is because everyone is focusing on Global warming and they don’t know any alternative to Chemical Dyes.
5) About 8000 Chemicals are used in conventional Dyeing, many of which are carcinogenic. Like your body absorbs water through the skin while you swim, it also absorbs these chemicals even years after the fabric has been dyed, accounting for various ailments ranging from skin allergies to Cancer.
6) It is much more comfortable as the natural softness of the cotton is retained, whereas in conventional Bleaching the harsh chemicals make the cloth much rougher.
7) Economically Herbal Dyed cloth is now a viable option as its price is similar to non-organic fabric.
So why are you still using conventional dyes?
