Ciao Nonna👋Today is June 9th, and it has been exactly one year since you left us.

In the last few months before you were gone, you were so curious to know more about that crazy project we were building in India. Whenever I came back to Italy, I would show you photos and videos of that little restaurant we had opened in Gurugram, and you could hardly believe that something like that was really possible on the other side of the world.

Since June 9th 2025, so many things have happened that I never had the chance to tell you about. That summer, we opened our first real restaurant in Delhi and, over the past few months, two more locations in Gurugram.

In all three of them, in some way, you are there too.

You are the red thread that runs through all of them, the common thread of this story. You are the person who loved cooking more than anyone else. It was your world. You always said you couldn’t cook, but the truth is that you were the very best.

Some time ago, I found a photo of us in an old family album and decided to place it at the entrance of every Mi Piaci restaurant. In the latest location we opened in Gurugram, I even commissioned a mosaic from an artist from Ravenna (our city): countless small pieces coming together to recreate our photograph. A true work of art. You would have absolutely loved it.

Along this journey, I have found incredible companions. Harsh and Nitin have become much more than business partners. What I love most about us is that, before anything else, we genuinely care about each other. We share the same values and always try to be fair and ethical with everyone, even when it isn’t the easiest path.

I don’t know what the future holds, but one of the most important lessons I’ve learned here in India is that when you do the right thing, it always comes back to you in the end.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who believes in us and is helping us turn this dream into reality.
