THE MOST ASKED QUESTION SINCE WE STARTED THIS SERIES — what documents do you actually need to run a food truck in bangalore? we got you.

RTO — Two things. A vehicle modification clearance (mandatory once you add a kitchen setup — that counts as a modification) and a fitness certificate for the vehicle, which needs periodic renewal.

FSSAI License — Non-negotiable. Apply on the FSSAI portal, get your basic or state license based on turnover, and keep it displayed on the truck at all times.

GST Registration — Required if your turnover crosses the threshold, but better to have it in place from day one regardless.

And the part that nobody tells you — Even with all of this sorted, parking your truck on a public road in Bangalore is technically illegal. You can get an NOC to operate in specific areas, but that still doesn’t guarantee your spot.
