Huge effort by our neighbours Tully's Bar Waterford and bigbearwaterford this evening, getting ready for the fundraiser tomorrow.

The Rising Phoinex Festival will commence tomorrow Saturday 12 noon. All proceeds going towards Music For Musicians, support for those who have been affected by the fire in Tycor.

All the staff and customers at Tom Maher’s support this amazing effort.

We hope to see you all on the street tomorrow!!

Next up in our Waterford Cultural Quarter Community Portraits series we have Claire Lalvani, proprietor of Thomas Mahers, Moondharrig House, 20 O’Connell Street, WCQ.

Open since 1886 Thomas Mahers is a hugely popular traditional Irish pub of international renown that stands proudly in Waterford’s Cultural Quarter. The fine craftsmanship of the original long bar has stood the test of time beautifully and to this day it is a beloved meeting spot for locals and tourists alike.

Maher’s is famed for it’s closely guarded secret recipe in-house whiskey and ginger wine that combine to make their classic house drink, ‘The Whiskey Mac’.
