The award-winning author of The Raptures and The Fire Starters, Jan Carson, will be in conversation with writer and journalist Roisin Kiberd. Join for a wide-ranging conversation including a discussion of Jan’s most recent novel, Few and Far Between (Penguin, 2026).

Jan Carson is a Belfast-based writer and the author of four novels, three short story collections, and two collections of micro-fiction. Her novel The Fire Starters won the European Union Prize for Literature for Ireland in 2019. The Raptures was shortlisted for both the An Post Irish Book Awards – Irish Novel of the Year and the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award. Her writing has aired on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4, and RTÉ, and has been translated into more than twenty languages worldwide.

Our Head Chef Micheal with an incredible turbot, fresh off the boat in Greencastle. The kitchen team have been busy preparing and filleting these beauties ahead of a wedding this weekend at the hotel. Some lovely produce coming in from the garden also 🍓🥬

Just a reminder that we’re closed this weekend, but we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back as the hotel fully reopens for the summer season on the 19th of May 🌞
