Impromptu mini session this Friday at Berrytree Café!

Fellow Bofiner and fiddler extraordinaire, Seán Abeyta, will be stopping by the cafe to play a few tunes on his way to Inishbofin for the annual Set Dancing & Trad Festival next weekend. He’ll be joined by partner-in-crime Mick Culloty on the accordion and Mountshannon’s own Clíodhna Donnellan on the fiddle.

Another fabulous food festival on Inishbofin comes to a close! Thank you for having me back again this year and thank you for the great set-up and for keeping us caffeinated.

We changed things up a little this year and, in addition to demo’ing a cake, I focused on cordials, syrups and ways to use all those foraged hedgerow gifts.

I had the best time presenting alongside Laura of , who makes the crunchiest (yet softest), scrummiest sourdough cinnamon swirls you’ll ever taste! And I learnt loads while I was at it!

We had the loveliest audience too - really enthusiastic and full of questions and quips! So much fun!

Thanks to the organisers for the invite and for all your hard work. Loved being back home and being part of this unique celebration of local food!

Berrytree will be closed this weekend (Friday-Sunday, 18-20 September) as we’ll be cooking at the annual Bia Bó Finne Food Festival on Inishbofin!

Lots of you have been asking if we’ll soon be finishing up for the season … and the answer is NOPE, we’re not going anywhere just yet!

As in previous years, we’ll remain open until Christmas and take a winter break in January/February.

Please note, however, that we’ll will be away on the following two weekends:

Friday-Sunday, 18-20 September
Friday-Sunday, 23-25 October

More details on those to follow in due course.

Really looking forward to a cosy knees-up with all of you this autumn/winter. Lots of seasonal specials coming your way in the weeks and months ahead. So be sure to follow along for updates!
