We also are one of the biggest sporting pubs in Limerick showing all sporting games across seven screens. 📖 A Little Writer’s Tears History

Writer’s Tears takes inspiration from Ireland’s great writers and the traditional whiskey enjoyed by generations of poets, playwrights and storytellers. Crafted using a blend of Irish malt and pot-still whiskey, the range celebrates the close relationship between Irish whiskey and Irish literary culture.

🥃 Writer’s Tears Red Head

🌿 Aroma: Rich dried fruit, vanilla, warm spice and toasted oak.
✨ Flavour: Full and fruity, with notes of red berries, ripe orchard fruit, vanilla and gentle spice.
🔥 Finish: Long, warming and pleasantly fruity, with a touch of oak.
🍽 Perfect Pairing: Roast duck, mature cheese, spiced desserts or dark chocolate.
🥃 Best Enjoyed: Neat, allowing the rich fruit character to develop in the glass, or with a small splash of water.

Four expressions, four distinct personalities — from the smooth, approachable character of Green Spot to the rich depth and complexity of Blue and Red Spot.

📖 A Little Spot History

The Spot family has its roots in Mitchell & Son, the famous Dublin wine and spirits merchant. The tradition began with their practice of marking whiskey casks with coloured paint to indicate their age and style — giving rise to the iconic Spot range. Today, each expression showcases a different side of Irish pot-still whiskey.
