A fantastic turnout in Kinvara today in support of the campaign to see Dunguaire Castle reopened.

It was brilliant to see so many people come together and show just how much this iconic landmark means to our community, our heritage and to tourism in Kinvara and the wider area.

The message today was loud and clear — we want Dunguaire Castle open again.

We are calling on all relevant State bodies and agencies to work together, without further unnecessary delay to find a way forward and get the gates of Dunguaire Castle reopened sooner rather than later.

Dunguaire is an important part of Kinvara’s identity and deserves to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. Galway County Heritage Office Galway County Council The Galway Advertiser Connacht Tribune - Galway City Tribune Irish Independent The New York Times
