The Bianconi story starts in the early 19th Century, when Charles Bianconi, one of the earliest innovators in public transport in Europe, and the founder of Ireland’s first public transport system started his stage coach routes in 1815. Bianconi realised that ordinary people sought to travel and see Ireland, as well as travel for business in comfort, something we believe in today in the Bianconi, Killorglin. The Bianconi has been trading for over 150 years and having originally been based on a Bianconi stage coach route, has taken it’s name from Killorglin’s rich and proud past as a central town for leisure, business and touring travellers alike. Five years ago a relation of the Sheehy Family, Hazel & Ger Daly took over the running of the business. Since their arrival they have recently won "Best Local Restaurant" for Munster in the 2022 Yes Chef Awards. They attribute the win to the fantastic work of their kitchen team lead by head chef Lucasz Wacnik and their amazing front of house staff. An excellent customer experience is so important to us and with 16 luxury guestrooms we can offer a very personal and welcoming stay.

As the evenings get a little shorter, we’re moving dinner slightly earlier Monday–Thursday, with our last booking at 7:45pm. Our Friday & Saturday dinner times remain unchanged, with Sundays now closed until Summer 2027.
