We’d like to congratulate Mickey Dunne, who was announced as the Gradam Saoil 2026 recipient, with the Lifetime Achievement Award reflecting the musician’s impact on traditional music on the island and beyond. The ceremony was broadcast live on TG4 last night.

Mickey Dunne is one of Ireland’s most respected uilleann pipers, a master musician, teacher, composer, singer and pipes maker whose influence has reached far beyond his native Limerick. We’ve been lucky enough to have had a couple of visits from Mickey & we’ve all enjoyed his music here at The Burren Inn, Tubber, Clare ✨

Gradam Ceoil TG4 is widely regarded as the highest honour in Irish traditional music, recognising outstanding achievement, creativity and cultural impact across seven award categories.

Congratulations Mickey 💫
