🎷 WHY EVERYTHING TASTES BETTER WITH A SAXOPHONE 🍷

🤫There is a quiet, almost forgotten science that explains evenings like this.

Turns out, researchers at Oxford found something pretty cool. Sound doesn’t just fill a room. It actually changes how we taste. Low, deep tones, the exact frequency of a saxophone, can make food feel richer, bring out savory notes, and even make wine taste smoother. 🎨 WHEN THE GALLERY COMES ALIVE AT MARTINE’S 🕯

🌌Friday night.

🕯️The candles are lit.

🪉A harp begins to play somewhere near the window.

🍷The whole room – the old stone, the wine glasses, the low murmur of voices – suddenly feels like a painting you’ve walked straight into.

This post itself is split in two: on one side, photograph of our dining room; on the other, the same scene reimagined as a Van Gogh oil painting. Because that’s exactly how it feels to sit here when the music starts. The real and the dreamlike, side by side.

✨ Interesting fact: Van Gogh painted Starry Night from memory while staying in a hospital in Saint‑Rémy. He had no view of the night sky – just a small window and his own imagination. The most beautiful things don’t come from noise; they come from quiet, from stillness, from a moment where you let the world slow down. That’s the feeling we try to create every evening at Martine’s.

This Friday, there will be a harp. The gallery feeling will be very real. And there is genuinely nothing better than dinner with live music drifting through the warm, candle‑lit air.
