It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cissie McKenna, Emy, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.

Cissie passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, 6th October, surrounded by the love and care of her family, neighbours and carers.

Predeceased by her parents, Minnie and Johnny, her sisters, Bridie Sherlock, Moira Coady and Nancy McCluskey and her brothers, Benny and Seán.

Cissie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sisters, Roisín and Susan (Gorman); her brothers, Eamonn and Pat; her sister-in-law, Veronica; her nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and the many friends she welcomed into her home over the years.

May Cissie’s kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Cissie’s remains will repose at McMahon’s Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Wednesday from 6pm - 8pm and Thursday from 4pm - 8pm.

Cissie’s Funeral Mass will take place on Friday morning at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Corracrin, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

We are saddened to announce the death of Patrick McMeel (Wee Paddy), Urlish, Killybrone, Clara, Co.Monaghan, H18 EH67. Sunday 4th October, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the Rossmore Ward at Monaghan General Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents George & Mary Mc Meel, infant son Patrick, daughter Dolores and sister Peggy McMahon.

Patrick will be sadly missed by his loving wife Brigid, children Olivia (Raymond RIP) Enda (Monica), Seamus (Jackie), Patricia, Fergal (Claire) & Gregory (Aoife), his much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother Seamus and sister Susie Corrigan, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, the extended McMeel family, neighbours, and all those who loved Paddy.

May Paddy’s gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Paddy’s remains will repose at McMahons Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Monday from 3pm - 8pm and at his home (H18 EH67) on Tuesday from 3pm - 8pm.

Please note, there will be a shuttle bus in operation on Tuesday evening, 5pm - 8pm from Clara Hall, H18 W602.

We are saddened to announce the death of Kathleen McMeel née McCallan, 48 Altadavin Rd, Augher, Co.Tyrone, BT77 0HS (formally Carrickmore). Tuesday 29th September, peacefully at Lone House, Dungannon surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband George and son Hugh, parents Michael & Annie and brother Michael.

Deeply regretted her loving family; Patrick (Majella), Mary (David Wright), Michael (Breid), Stephen (Una), Raymond (Andrea (Alex & Calvin)), her adored grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Christopher, Meghan, Ella, Eabha, Niamh, Reahá & Darragh, sisters Maureen (Frankie O’Hagan), Briege (Kevin McLoughlin) Ita (Paddy McMahon) & Una, brothers Owen (Majella) & Pat John, nieces, nephews, neighbours and extended family circle.

We are saddened to announce the death of Brian (Bernard) Smyth, FRCSI Retired Surgeon. Stramacilroy, Knockatallon, Co.Monaghan and formerly of The Glen Road, Ballybay Road, Monaghan.

Sunday 6th of September 2026 in Drumbear Lodge Nursing Home, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Owen & May.

Brian will be sadly missed by his children; Elizabeth (Eliza), Fiona, John (Ciara), Margaret (Jude), Claire (Dwayne), Amy & Michael and their mother Dr. Marian Smyth, his beloved grandchildren Ben, Ciara & Levi, his brothers Owen (Anne) John (Catherine), Paddy (Geraldine) and sister Mary, his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Brian’s remains will repose at 5 Glen Road (H18 NX61) on Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th September from 4.30pm to 8pm only.

House private for family members only at all other times.

Brian’s remains will leave The Glen Road on Wednesday 9th at 2.30pm to St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan for Funeral Mass at 3pm. Burial afterwards in the Old graveyard at Latlurcan Cemetery.

Family flowers only please donations if desired in lieu to Monaghan Hospital Patient Care Fund c/o McMahons Funeral Home or any family member.
