It is hard to comprehend the sad news today.
I, like many others, have grown up with Glen Hansard. From the skinny ginger kid in The Commitments, so seeing him win Oscars, make movies, play small bars to the big gigs in playing alongside his pal . From watching him jump off speakers with in to saying hi on the street before a gig in the Iveagh Gardens.
We’ve lived through his music;
had special moments with friends looking at the stars on Valentia Island; had sad moments when his lyrics spoke to us during times of need.
This is a tough one to take. I am so happy I got to see him in trinity a few weeks ago.. if only we had known it would be the last time 😢
