Cuppacabana Container Closing in October
Some difficult news from Sammy…
From the very beginning, I knew that our little spot at Donabate train station would eventually be developed. Our landlords have been incredibly kind and supportive to us over the years, and we always knew that this day might come.
Unfortunately, that day has now arrived.
A planning application is being submitted to demolish the old Daybreak building, and we will be closing Cuppacabana at the train station in mid-October (exact date TBC).
It’s difficult to put into words what this little container has meant to me, and to all our team.
What started as the Sambulance, then became the coffee dock, and eventually grew into Cuppacabana has been such a huge part of our lives. It’s where we’ve got to know so many of you — the early morning commuters, the parents doing the school run, the familiar faces who became part of our everyday, and the people who would pop in for a coffee and somehow stay for a chat.
We are all incredibly proud to have become part of the Donabate community, and we’re so grateful for all the support we’ve received over the years at the train station.
But please know: this is absolutely not goodbye!
Our café at is still very much here, and we’ll continue serving the coffee, pastries, home-baked goodies and the breakfast and lunch favourites you know and love.
And behind the scenes, we’re already exploring what the next chapter of Cuppacabana could look like.
For now, we’d love our community to get behind us as we navigate what comes next. Keep visiting us, keep drinking the coffee, keep spreading the word and come help us make these last few weeks at the container ones to remember.
We’ve got a little bit of time left, so there are still plenty of coffees to be had, chats to be had and memories to make.
And we’ll be bringing you along for the journey as we figure out what comes next.
