📚 Our monthly book club ✨

Last evening, Eileen brought us together for another lovely evening of books, conversation, good wine and even better company.

This month, we discussed Butter by Asako Yuzuki — a thought-provoking novel exploring food, desire, loneliness, and the ways we seek pleasure and connection.

A beautiful evening of sharing thoughts, discovering different perspectives, and plenty of chats along the way. 🍷📖

Next month’s read: I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman. We’ll see you on the last Wednesday of the month! 🤍

We’re starting a new little series here at Little Bird — Meet the Teacher 🌿

Every other Tuesday, we’ll be introducing you to one of the wonderful teachers who make up our team: their yoga journey, their teaching style, and a little glimpse of the person behind the practice.

This week’s teacher highlight - our lovely Anna Gronerus 🌷

Anna discovered yoga in Sweden in 2000, and what began as a practice has since grown into a beautiful part of her life. She completed her 200hr teacher training at The Yoga Room, Dublin in 2017, and has continued to explore the many layers of yoga through further training in Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and Somatic Exercise.

Today, Anna teaches Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Sculpt and workshops, blending her knowledge of anatomy with creative, thoughtful and accessible sequencing.

Whether you’re looking to build strength, find stillness, move with curiosity or simply spend an hour reconnecting with yourself, Anna’s classes invite you to meet yourself exactly where you are. ✨

We’re so happy to have her as part of our Little Bird family.

Come meet Anna on the mat — and join us every other Tuesday as we introduce you to the rest of our team 🐦‍⬛🌿

10/08/2026

Sylvia is back this Saturday, 15 Aug (6pm-7:30pm) for her monthly TRE™ (Trauma & Tension Releasing Exercises) workshop.

TRE™ is a body-based modality that aims to release deep tension and stress held in the body. This method was developed by Dr. David Berceli and is based on trauma neurobiology, Stephen Porges’ polyvagal theory, and the approaches of Peter Levine and Gabor Maté. TRE™ uses a series of gentle exercises to activate the body’s natural tremoring mechanism, which can calm the nervous system and promote relaxation.

What to expect during this workshop:
🔹 Grounding Meditation
🔹 Opening Exercises – Gentle movements to stretch tense areas, preparing the body for neurogenic tremors.
🔹 Active TRE™ phase alternated with moments of deep relaxation/rest to give the nervous system time to integrate changes. As TRE™ is a self-guided process, you can stop or modify the exercises at any time if they feel uncomfortable.
🔹 Final meditation to transition smoothly back to your everyday routine.

Our monthly Candlelit Restorative Evening led by the wonderful Maggie Dunne is on this Friday, 7 August | 7:30pm-9pm.
💕

Restorative yoga gently reminds us that sometimes the most productive thing we can do is to slow down! Our bodies were never designed to live in a constant state of doing and achieving and the most precious gift we can give to ourselves and others is time to pause and rest.
What is Restorative Yoga? A deeply nourishing, gentle practice that focuses on passive postures - mostly done while lying on the ground - supported by blosters, blankets, blocks, and other props to allow the body to relax completely. Poses are typically held for several minutes to release physical tension and give the mind space to quieten and dwell in stillness.
Whether you’re are experiencing fatigue or exhaustion, recovering from an injury, or simply wishing to slow down, this 90 min session offers a warm, supportive space in which you can relax deeply, reconnect with yourself, and recharge from within.

🌳

Womens’ Circle with Keire & Martina Nascaithe
Fri, 31 July | 7:30pm - 9:30pm
These monthly circles offer a safe, supportive space where we can share our own experiences, bear witness, reflect on life’s transitions, and hold our stories with compassion, reverence, and intention. It is a way of connecting deeply to oneself, to each other, to community, to the natural world, which reminds us that we are not alone - as we navigate grief, joy, uncertainty, and challenges - and that wisdom, hope, and healing are rooted in interconnectedness.

Sound Bath with Liam Oragh Liam Oragh Sound Therapy
Sat, 1 August | 6pm - 7:30pm
A sound bath is an immersive, meditative experience where you are “bathed” in resonant, vibration-rich tones. These sounds create a sensory landscape that promotes deep relaxation. A Sound Bath doesn’t just relax the mind but activates the body’s regulation systems, encouraging rest & repair and profound wellbeing.

We have been running our monthly book club for over two years now 💕and it has been such a joy to gather and chat about novels and works of non-fiction, letting the conversation flow spontaneously into other threads about everyday life, culture, art, travel, current affairs, and big existential questions!

It’s just a lovely way to connect, make new friends, discover lesser-known literary gems, and engage in rich discussions.

Our pick for August is the Japanese novel “Butter” by Asako Yuzuki.
“Part true crime novel, part love letter to fine dining, and part takedown of capitalistic structures in modern-day Japan, Butter is a compelling and intensely readable take on what it means to enjoy life, and all the contributing forces that make that decision complicated.” https://chireviewofbooks.com/2024/04/25/food-patriarchy-and-murder-in-asako-yuzukis-butter/

When: Wednesday, 19 August | 6:30pm-8pm
Venue: Scéal cafe (next to the Yoga studio)
Tickets: €15 (including a glass of wine - or tea, if preferred - and shared snacks

This weekend’s workshops, led by a trio of incredibly experienced teachers, offer a wonderful opportunity to unwind, learn, explore, and harness the powerful benefits of movement, mindfulness, asanas, and breathwork.

FASCIA & STRESS RELEASE with
Friday, 24 July | 7:30pm-9pm
The perfect end-of-week reset, this evening class draws on a unique multidisciplinary approach combining breathwork, slow, targeted movements, and foam rolling exercises specifically designed to hydrate and release the fascia (the intricate web of connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, bone and organ in your body). This is a gentle self-care practice that works with the body rather than pushing against it, unlocking deeply-held tension and helping to restore suppleness and fluidity of movement.
🌊

YOGA FOR HYPERMOBILITY with
Saturday, 25 July | 3pm-5pm
Whether you’ve been formally diagnosed with hEDS or you suspect you might be hypermobile, Fiona’s workshop on Saturday is for you! You will learn how hypermobility affects the joints and soft tissue and how to practice yoga in a way that truly supports your specific body type, shifting the focus away from « going deeper » toward greater stability, strength, and integration.
Props will be our best friends in this workshop; expect to be challenged, and to do familiar yoga poses in very different (hypermobile-specific) ways. This workshop is also ideal for yoga teachers or teachers-to-be who wish to expand their skillsets.
🧘‍♀️

KUNDALINI YOGA with
Sunday, 26 July | 3pm-5:30pm
This Kundalini practice uses a sequence of movements that helps you relate to stress differently, allowing the body to respond with more ease and flow instead of tension. It’s a powerful combination of dynamic sequences designed to move energy through the body, supporting both the nervous system and overall vitality. This practice will be a combination of yoga postures, breath work, meditations, and chants to uplift, energise, and relax.
