In 1961, at eighteen years old, Maria Marsella (nee Macari) moved to Ireland. While working in a café with her brother saverio on Wexford Street, she met Luigi Marsella, who delivered cakes there daily. In 1967, Maria and Luigi got married and after living in Ballybough,Tallaght and Driminagh settled in Rathcoole with their 5 children and opened what was then known as “The Bun Burger Bar” in 1981. They spent 14 years working in Rathcoole and became a huge part of the community. Maria and Luigi then retired to Kilwarden in 1995 where they spent their days with their family making irreplaceable memories.

It is with a heavy heart we must now say goodbye to our Mammy. A hard-working woman loved by all in this community, a role model to all her children, 17 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Everyone will truly miss you. Rest in peace Maria, look over us always.
