Check out our website for details www.croninspub.ie The history of Cronin’s Pub goes back to when Sean’s parent’s Jo and Denny bought the former Kennefick’s Hotel in 1970. It actually opened as a hotel by the Kenneifck family in 1892!. Jo and Denny ran it as a popular bar in Cork’s favourite holiday destination of the time, ‘Crosser by the sea’. Sean met a Dutch lady, Thecla, who came to Ireland after finishing art college. They later married and had two children; Joleen and Denis. Thecla brought lots of ideas, enthusiasm and with her love of cooking, made Cronin’s known as a great lunchtime destination with lots of local seafood treats including chowder, mussels and oysters. Denis inherited her culinary flair and in 2009 opened the Mad Fish Restaurant, a quaint dining room tucked into the back of the pub, which has picked up numerous Irish food awards. Denis now lives next door to the pub with his Kiwi wife Caroline and their family. They have a large garden and grow lots of vegetables and herbs, which they love to use in their cooking in the pub. Sean’s biggest hobby is collecting curios and antiques and has even dedicated an enormous section of the bar to his favourite sport of boxing. He continues to amaze people with his infinite knowledge of Irish whiskeys and loves chatting to our regular and loyal customers. Joleen is a photographer, graphic designer and our marketing manager. She loves to organise events and has made Cronin’s a focal and cultural part of the Crosshaven community with regular film screenings, art exhibitions and the now famous Irish Redhead Convention.

Awww not Declan!

We are saddened to let you know that last night Declan was knocked down in the village and died.

He was such a special part of the team here in and and the staff and customers adored him.

He was so social and often befriended customers, and people around the village, often seen meeting people off the bus and walking with them to work, getting fed from various village businesses, and he was often highlighted on his adventures on people’s stories. Children made their parents call in just to find him asleep on a couch somewhere.

His last visit in our Instagram page got more likes than any other post in our history, so that goes to show how much he was loved!

We will miss you Declan, and our hearts are with you

Thank you Noel in for the special spot in your garden, he will forever look over the village from there!

Its the end of an amazingly hot & busy summer full of laughs, music, parties and heaps of good fun. Now we want to have our own!

To celebrate the end of the season, and to relax together, we are operating the kitchen on a short day tomorrow to take the staff out for a knees up.

The pub is still open (of course) but lunch finishes at 2:45pm, with 2pointroad closing by 3pm.

We are not serving dinner Tuesday 1st September!

The marquee is up and the stage is nearly set.

Royal Cork Yacht Club Cork Week racing is starting next Monday 6th through to Friday 10th.
With plenty of boats entering the racing, and crews already arriving, spectators have choice of local viewing points and beaches to see the boats head in and out.

Our music schedule is starting this Saturday and bands are playing through the week every evening at 6:30-8:30pm.

Food is available everyday from 9am through , lunch and casual dinners through the pub and terrace.
Dinner is served 7 days, and it pays to book if you are looking to eat in the restaurant.
