Join us in celebrating International Coffee Day.
As you can imagine, we are big fans of coffee and, thankfully, many in our local community are, too! Although we are all about local food producers, unfortunately, coffee cannot be grown here in Ireland, so we have to look further afield for this beloved drink.
Not sure how much you know about your favourite brew, but our beans, which the roasters describe as having a smooth texture, a juicy apple acidity and a caramelised nut flavour (sounds tasty, right?), are grown on farms in Central America & Brazil and enjoy Rainforest Alliance certification. After they make their journey over to Ireland, they are roasted in Waterford before they find their way to our coffee machine and into your cup. That's quite a story!
So next time you're sipping your delicious steaming cuppa, why not give a moment's gratitude to the farmers across the Atlantic, who undoubtedly, much like our own farmers, face challenges and yet persist in following their love of growing such a wonderful beverage!
