Well, we are absolutely gutted to be posting this but we didn't want to post straight away on social media as it just wasn't the right time.
As most of you know by now, our bar was destroyed in a fire that started from a cooking accident. What happened last Sunday has left us all completely heartbroken. We are devastated that the fire has affected not only us, but our staff and the neighbouring businesses.
To the business owners and everyone impacted around us, we are so incredibly sorry. We know this has turned a lot of lives upside down and our thoughts are with every single person affected.
To our staff, we honestly don't have the words. You have been more than staff to us; you have been mates, family and a massive part of what made this place special. Knowing that many of you are now out of work because of this is one of the hardest things for us to come to terms with. Thank you for everything you have given over the years to make Stumpy's bar the place it was.
And to our customers and the local community; thank you. From the first beer poured to the last laugh shared across the bar, you have supported us every step of the way. What started as a business became a second home for so many people, and that is all because of you. We will be back.
The amount of messages, calls and kind words we have received has honestly blown us away but you have reminded us just how lucky we are to be part of such a good community.
Right now we are taking things one day at a time. It is a tough road ahead for all the businesses affected by this tragedy, but we are grateful to have such amazing support around us. We will be rebuilding and repairing the affected businesses around us before we even think about rebuilding Stumpy's Bar. Will Stumpy's Bar re-open - too right we will, in due time. TO BE VERY CLEAR we are rebuilding the businesses around us first.
