Rahajeng Galungan dan Kuningan

We wish all our staff, their families and our Balinese friends a very happy Galungan day. Enjoy this special day with your families.

To all our customers we will be closed until Friday morning to allow our staff to attend this important ceremony with their families.

This is the start of the Galungan-Kuningan festival, a vibrant and sacred 10-day celebration that marks the victory of dharma (“good”) over adharma (“evil”).

Central to Galungan is the belief that during the festival, ancestral spirits visit the earth and join their living relatives in celebration. Families gather to pray at their ancestral temples, adorned with offerings of fruits, flowers, and incense. It's a time for introspection, forgiveness, and reconnecting with one's roots.

If you are in Bali today, you can say "Selamat Hari Raya Galungan" or "Selamat Galungan" (Happy Galungan) to your Balinese friends who celebrate this important festival. 🙏🙏🙏

A HUGE thank you to two of our special customers Graeme Maylin and Lisa Burke (sorry I can't tag you Lisa so I tagged your dad) who kindly donated money to buy a brand new wheelchair for an elderly man- Ketut- from Wayans village, a poor village in Karangasem in the north of Bali. Ketut was working on a farm years ago when he was bitten by a poisonous snake. Due to being unable to afford top healthcare, the poison spread and infection in his legs grew leading to one leg being totally amputated and the other extremely weak. Wheelchairs are expensive for locals so the only wheelchair provided by the system had no tyres, was rusted out and could not be pushed. Leading to the men in the village needing to pick him up and move him. It was common to see him stuck on the side of the road. Ketut and his family are extremely happy and very grateful for this gift and send much thanks and love to Graeme and Lisa. He will now be able to be more independent and get around the village himself. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY ❤️❤️❤️
