The Akari Light Sculptures series was designed in 1951 by the Japanese-American artist and designer Isamu Noguchi; and today forms a central part of the portfolio of the Swiss manufacturer Vitra. The product family consists of over 100 different ceiling lamps, hanging lamps, floor lamps and table lamps, all of which were hand-made in Japan according to traditional production methods from shoji paper. Constructed from a supporting frame crafted from ribs of bamboo and occasionally featuring patterns on the shade the Vitra Akari Light Sculptures impress through their multi-faceted, sculptural forms which bring themselves in a very reserved accent to any room. Excellent suppliers of ambient light by themselves, in combination with other models the Vitra luminaries provide for very poetic installations and a unique ambience.

Venus Chair
Konstantin Grcic, 2006
As far as Konstantin Grcic was concerned, the thought of designing the 1001st tame chair version with four legs was just too boring. Instead he created from the intelligent combination of two wooden shells a new type of chair with high sculptural quality. Venus is free of ballast in every respect: in simple, bright wood, with smooth, clear contours and astonishingly lightweight. An exciting new chapter in the long history of sitting – and one of the most aesthetic options for giving that special touch to a conference room or dining room.

Rivoli Table; Eileen Gray, 1928 Side table. Frame chrome-plated tubular steel and two swivel trays chrome-plated steel. Tabletops MDF high-gloss lacquered in black, grey and white. Plastic gliders in black and one height-adjustable metal glider.
