Despite the stark white walls and chic shop front, the Petite Oyster is a place with a lot of heart. A genuinely local restaurant with only a smattering of tables, Sai Street is blessed to enjoy a place which really knows its seafood. Of course, as a restaurant serving French food, there are plenty of Franco-staples on the menu too and plenty of diners opt for French onion soup as a starter, befor

e moving on to some serious meats to follow. Although from our point of view, if you’re going to go to an oyster bar, you should probably have the oysters! And of course, the oysters are the stars of the show. There’s oysters from France, USA, Japan, Scotland and Ireland, and they come served with the prerequisite chilli and lemon to serve as you like. The wine list is sufficiently varied to keep keen enophiles interested, but you can bring your own for a corkage fee. The restaurant is open every day from 6pm. This small place on Sai Street in Tai Ping Shan, Sheung Wan gets busy at the weekend and a reservation, therefore is a must!
