It’s means BAKED MIXED PASTAS 😻😻😻😻
Pasta al forno is a classic Italian oven-baked pasta dish made with short pasta but Stefano 👨🏻🍳 uses mixed pasta this time , meat or tomato sauce, béchamel, and melted cheese.
“Al forno" translates to "from the oven," meaning any baked dish.
While baked pasta dishes date back to the Renaissance courts of Italy where noble families served lavish pastry-wrapped baked pastas, the modern, rustic version evolved as a staples of cucina povera (peasant cooking) in Southern Italy, particularly in regions like Sicily, Campania, and Calabria.
• The "Sunday Feast" Tradition:
In Italy, pasta al forno is the ultimate Sunday family lunch dish (il pranzo della domenica). It was traditionally prepared ahead of time so the family could leave it in the oven while attending morning church services.
It remains a mandatory centerpiece for major Italian holidays, including Christmas, New Year's Day, and Ferragosto (Assumption Day in August).
