Newly arrived from , Pomies Agassac 2016, A blend of over 60% Cabernet Sauvignon , the rest are merlot and Cabernet Franc.
TO THE EYE : An attractive purple with garnet tints, both intense and crystalline.
ON THE NOSE : Strong fruity flavours with notes of cherry brandy are accompanied by scents of mild spices, such as cloves. The bouquet is intense, and notes of ripe fruit (blackcurrant, blackberries) develop, with an anderlying scent of camphor.
AFTER AIRING : After half an hour of aeration the aromas become more intense, revealing notes of plum jam against a backdrop of damp chalk notes.
ON THE PALATE : The attack is richwith supple, wel-matured tannins. Finely structured , this vintage's freshness is counterbalanced by a moderate ripenesscreating an elegant finish.This non-exhuberant wine ends with flavours of toasted herbs and sandalwood.
