Tearound, two weekends ago.
We packed our teas and cups into crates, hauled them down to PMQ, and spent three days behind a table pouring for whoever stopped by.
It was our first time at this festival, and we weren’t sure what to expect. What we found was a room full of people who love tea—from lifelong drinkers to those holding a gaiwan for the first time. Tea makers from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Students. Grandparents. So many young faces.
We shared what we brought, answered questions, and listened. We also taught diancha one afternoon—a small table, a few bowls, everyone whisking at their own pace.
The three days passed in a blur of steam and conversation. By the end, our voices were hoarse and we had run out of business cards. It was the good kind of tired.
Thank you to .hk and for creating this gathering. And to everyone who came to our table: for your curiosity, your patience, and for showing up. We met new friends and found old ones. We’ll remember this one.
