Five minutes from the Marina, the Sailfish Oasis Lodge is the perfect place to relax after a long day of fishing. Situated in a secure, residential, tree-lined development, the lodge sits on the edge of a canal overlooking mangroves. This spacious, private property boasts an incredible outdoor area with lush gardens, an inviting pool, and boardwalks to your private air-conditioned bungalows. In the evenings, guests gather at the open air bar and restaurant to share fish tales and to dine on delicious food, including prime U.S. beef, grilled jumbo shrimp, mouthwatering ceviche, and dorado and yellowfin sashimi. Guatemala is known as the sailfishing capital of the world for good reason, it holds both the conventional and fly fishing records for most sailfish released in one day. Our fleet often releases 30 sailfish a day during peak season and has a year round daily average of 15-20 releases. The highest concentration of billfish in the world combined with our world class vessels and expert captains will undoubtedly provide you with the sportfishing vacation of a lifetime. The team at Sailfish Oasis Sportfishing is dedicated to ensuring visiting anglers have the sportfishing experience of a lifetime from the moment they arrive in Guatemala until they return home. From enthusiastic trip coordinators, to private chauffeurs, hotel staff, and boat crew, our team is excited to share this world-class fishery and fascinating country with our guests.

Mahi miércoles……

31/08/2026

Here one day, gone the next. We worked hard, covered area but it was tough out there yesterday releasing 3 sailfish from 7 bites and missed a couple of mahi. Still a fun trip with an awesome crew! 2 x days = 12 from 19 on sailfish, 1 blue and x 3 mahi. A good way to sign off our ‘summer season’…..

Fun day with JP and the crew! 1 blue marlin, 9 from 12 on sailfish and x 3 decent mahi in the bin.

Our mate John Tully from NZ is as tough as nails. With a fully snapped ankle thats booked in to be fused next week, he’s fished the past 6 days with us. Yesterday he boated 4 yf tunas on the spinning gear with poppers and released 3 sailfish along with one on the fly. Great way to finish the trip!!

Mahi Tuesday

17/08/2026

Last few days out of the Lodge:
Allure II on the fly rods with the Kiwi South Island crew representing the Pegasus Bay SFC we’ve raised 20 sails and a blue going 1 from 6 on sails on the fly and 4 from 9 on the bait. Had a day out wide chasing tunas as well, pulled the hook on one boatside on the popper.
Tranquility on conventional tackle with Team Port Aransas raised 17 sails and 3 blue marlin, releasing 10 sails from 16 bites and 0 from 2 on the blues.
A few mahi’s for the crews as well…..
