During World War II, a young mechanic named Ferruccio Lamborghini was stationed in Rhodes with the Italian military, responsible for maintaining the island's military vehicles. The Music Pavilion (1912–1943) was, for decades, a landmark of gathering, celebration, and music in Rhodes.

Every Sunday, and during every festive occasion, people would gather around Aktaion while the space filled with melodies, voices, and life.
