A.S.K is a new venture in Kardamena for 2016. Having sampled Asian food in Thailand in recent years a taste of this aromatic cuisine comes to you here on the Greek island of Kos.
For every restaurant in Thailand there are hundreds of food vendors selling a variety of "street food". The most basic of these food outlets are simple "Food Carts" fitted out with just enough equipment to produce one staple dish, the ultimate take-away. These carts are often mobile even hand-pushed or attached to a motor-bike as a side car.
"Food Stalls" comprising a number a number of 'food carts' often have a semi-permanent street location and are delivered daily even nightly to their trading spots. A small menu is often offered together with street side tables and chairs, changing the road-side character, get a group of stalls together and they can block a side street to traffic.
The nearest thing to a basic Greek taverna is a "Food Kitchen", which whilst being permanently located will still usually have a street or open kitchen. Meal-time drinks are more prevalent, seating will be inside/outside or both, a larger menu is provided and for the first time there should be toilet facilities.
A.S.K. falls into this latter group, the menu will contain the Thai staple meals, Thai snacks and a small limited evening menu changing daily, on a weekly basis.
A.S.K. is not a Thai restaurant, so please do not arrive expecting a full menu.
A.S.K. is located at the back of the village parallel to but away from the harbour front, bar street and the main road. From the harbour head away from the sea through the main square past bar street, at the main road cross-over beside the taxi rank and head up the road to the side of Louis supermarket. At the cross-roads, to the front of Hotel Elga turn left and A.S.K. is 30m on the left, immediately before Status nightclub, continue straight across the next cross-roads and Seva Hotel will be on your left. Turning right at and pass Hotel Elga will bring you to Kool Pool.
